The apple

This is an assignment for The Poetry Dance Hall.

                        it
                         is
                  always     the same
                 blaming me blaming you
                for something that never
                 really happened at all
                 see, here's the thing
                  snakes  do not talk
                   and fruit doesn't
                    impart anything
                       magical  or
                         tragic

an apple it was never called in the garden so you may be right
but a piece of fruit placed there by a higher power just might have power
the snake maybe never was but in written script it was a serpent
to question God is a very dangerous thing
not that you will stand there waiting forever
but careful that he may answer
we mortals have all the answers to questions of time and space
could it be that maybe just maybe there is Superiority
or is man so smart?

Thanks for your comment, although I don't think that I would ever consider questioning God, in the same way as I would never question The Flying Spaghetti Monster, Invisible Pink Unicorns, or Blue Fairies On The Moon.
